Rick Brandenburg, Ph.D.

Dr. Rick Brandenburg is a Wm. Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor at North Carolina State University. He received his BS from Purdue, his PhD from N. C. State and after a four year stint as a faculty member at the Univ of Missouri he returned to N.C. State in 1985. He has spent the last 30 years developing cost effective insect management programs for a number of systems including turfgrass.

Rick has been fortunate to speak at conferences around the globe, has written numerous books and book chapters, more than 125 research articles in scientific journals, and been recognized with more awards than he deserves including being named a Fellow in two professional societies, the national urban entomology award and the outstanding extension award by the Entomological Society of America, a Distinguished Purdue Alumnus, and the Lawn and Landscape National Leadership Award, among others.

Despite the good fortune of being associated with turfgrass for the past 30 years, his wife, Janice, and their three grown kids are his greatest success stories.
